Owens-Corning — Kaylo Plant in Sayreville NJ
Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that they were allegedly exposed to asbestos while working at the Owens-Corning Kaylo plant in Sayreville, New Jersey. For the full corporate summary, see the Owens-Corning manufacturer page.
Plant Description and Operating Era
The Sayreville NJ plant carries Owens-Illinois Kaylo heritage — the site was part of the original Owens-Illinois Kaylo production and distribution footprint before the 1958 transfer of the Kaylo product line to Owens-Corning. Under Owens-Corning, Sayreville allegedly continued handling Kaylo-10 asbestos-cement pipe insulation production and Northeast distribution through the 1972 asbestos phase-out. Workers exposed at Sayreville prior to 1958 may have handled Owens-Illinois-manufactured Kaylo; post-1958 exposures are attributable to Owens-Corning.
